The impact of goals on life satisfaction
Imagine that someone offers you the chance to achieve one of your biggest goals instantly, but at the cost of never experiencing the joy of the process of reaching it. How do you decide?
I accept the offer because the goal is more important than the journey.
I refuse, because it is the journey that gives value to the destination.
I will try to negotiate another option where I keep at least part of the process.
I feel anxious because I don't know what the right decision is.
I will think about whether my goal is really the right one if the path to it does not attract me.
Imagine that you have absolute freedom and no restrictions. What does your ideal day look like?
I am working on something that fulfills me and pushes me forward.
I spend time with people I love, without obligations and stress.
I am traveling and discovering new things without the need to go back anywhere.
I engage in relaxation, art, or creative activities.
I don't have a clear idea, but I know that I wouldn't want to be tied down to routine tasks.
When you look back on the last year of your life, what are you most proud of?
To overcome an obstacle or achieve a personal goal.
On the relationships that I have strengthened or on new friendships.
In moments when I allowed myself to be authentic and honest with myself.
For the courage to make a change, even when it was difficult.
I am not sure, maybe I haven't found something yet that would give me a sense of pride.
If you could choose only one feeling to experience every day, what would it be?
Pride in your results.
Peace and inner harmony.
Love and connection with others.
Curiosity and enthusiasm for new things.
Freedom and independence.
How do you react when you fail to meet your own expectations?
I push myself even harder and try to find a way to make it right.
I am trying to understand why it happened and learn from it.
I feel frustration, but in the end, I will get through it.
I will feel disappointment and lose motivation for a while.
I begin to doubt whether my goals are really right.
Imagine that you have achieved everything you desired today. What motivates you to keep going?
New challenges and more ambitious goals.
The need to help others and share your experiences.
Deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.
Enjoying the achieved and seeking joy in the present.
Maybe I would take a break because I don’t know what should come next.
If you had unlimited time and energy, what project would you dedicate yourself to?
I would build something that would leave a lasting legacy.
I would focus on personal development and spiritual growth.
I would travel and seek new experiences and perspectives.
I would create something creative that would inspire others.
Maybe I would finally allow myself to just be, without pressure to perform.
What do you perceive as your greatest obstacle in achieving your goals?
Lack of time or resources.
Doubts about oneself and one's abilities.
Concerns that even if I achieve the goal, it may not fulfill me.
Distraction and inability to maintain long-term motivation.
That life often leads me down different paths than I planned.
How do you make a decision when faced with an important life choice?
I am analyzing all options and looking for the most rational solution.
I will rely on my intuition and the feeling that tells me what is right.
I will ask for the opinion of people I trust.
I mostly make decisions spontaneously and based on what appeals to me at that moment.
Sometimes I feel paralyzed and making decisions takes me a long time.
What kind of goals fulfill you the most?
Those that are measurable and bring tangible success.
Those that are related to my personal freedom and authenticity.
Those that allow me to be part of something greater.
Those that give me the opportunity to be creative and express myself.
Those that bring me joy regardless of their size or significance.
