Small steps to a greener life
Imagine that in the morning you find out that you ran out of your favorite coffee at home. What will you do?
I will take a breath, make myself some tea, and see it as an opportunity to try something different.
I will write it on my shopping list and think all day that I am missing something.
I'll walk to the store to get it – at least I'll get some exercise.
I will check if I have any backup alternatives – I am improvising.
I will think about why it is so important to me – maybe I rely on routines more than I would like to.
In the office, a colleague tells you that they started recycling. How do you react?
I will say "super" and in my mind, I will note that I could take inspiration.
I will start asking what everything sorts and how it handles it.
I'll say something like "That's in fashion today" and change the topic.
I will be pleased that someone else is changing too, I am not alone in this.
I will reflect on whether my habits align with what I consider important.
Imagine that someone invites you for a weekend without a mobile phone or electricity – just nature. How do you feel?
Enthusiasm – it sounds like a necessary reboot.
Insecurity – I'm afraid that I will be left out of what is happening.
Curiosity - I am interested in how it will affect me.
Anxiety – I am losing control over my environment.
Quiet – finally something away from noise and impulses.
In the store, you see a product in eco-friendly packaging, but it's a bit more expensive. What will you do?
I'll take the cheaper one – after all, it's about money.
I will think about what I am supporting, and maybe I will give the eco option a chance.
I automatically reach for the more eco-friendly option – it's my way of making a change.
It depends on what else I am buying – I am looking for balance.
I'll tell myself that maybe next time – but I know that I would like to be more aware.
When someone claims that "an individual won't change anything anyway," what is your reaction?
Maybe she is right – big changes are beyond us.
It annoys me – it is individuals who can be the catalysts.
I will try to show him that even small things have an impact.
I will consider whether I have the energy to talk about it, or if it is just a defensive stance.
I take it as a sign that they might feel powerless – not as an attack.
How do you perceive people who live minimally?
I admire them, but it's not for me.
I think they are depriving themselves of many joys.
They inspire me – they show that less is sometimes more.
I am not interested in it – everyone can do as they please.
I am curious how it helps them feel freer.
What does "responsibility for the planet" mean to you?
Something that should be addressed mainly by the government and companies.
Something distant – I have enough of my own problems.
Everyday choices – how I live, what I buy, how I travel.
A topic that I prefer not to think about too much – it causes me anxiety.
Opportunity – to live better and more consciously, not just more ecologically.
If you could change one of your habits for the benefit of the planet, what would you change?
Traveling – perhaps drive less.
Dining - limit meat or plastic packaging.
Shopping – to think more about what I really need.
Household customs – heating, lights, water.
Communication – talking about these things with others.
Which statement is closest to you?
I may not change the world, but I can change my day.
If everyone does at least a little, something big will be created.
Change comes when we are willing to sacrifice something.
I am not an environmental activist – I am just trying not to be passive.
I want to live in a way that is consistent with what I believe is right.
Imagine that in 10 years you will be living in an ideal world. What does it look like?
More nature, less noise, slower pace.
Society is more conscious – people are aware of the consequences of their actions.
Technologies serve nature, they do not replace it.
Everyone lives simply, but fully.
I feel peaceful because I know I am part of the solution, not the problem.
