Imagine that a young person asks you for advice in an area where you have a lot of experience. How do you respond?

I will tell him that experiences are invaluable, but he has to gain them on his own. I will share my experience with him and also add a story that may inspire him. I will ask him what he already knows about it so that I can adjust to his level. I will recommend a good book or source for him to enhance his knowledge. I wonder if it is even important – the world is changing and maybe my experiences are no longer relevant.

How do you feel when the younger generation does things completely differently than you are used to?

I am curious and trying to understand their perspective. Sometimes it surprises me, but if it works, I don't resist changes. I feel that some traditional values are disappearing. By supporting the independent exploration and thinking of the younger generation. I leave it to the young to ask questions, and I only respond when they are interested. I'm not sure if anyone is even interested in my experiences.

If someone asks you a question about a topic you don't know much about, how do you respond?

I admit that I don't know, but I would be happy to talk about it. I will say that it used to be different, but maybe they can explain to me how it is today. I will reflect and try to answer based on similar experiences. I will recommend someone who understands it better. I'll try to steer the conversation towards something I feel more confident about.

What is your attitude when someone recommends a new technology that could make your life easier?

I am curious and I would like to try it out. I'll give it a try, but if it doesn't suit me, I'll stick to my old methods. Sometimes it makes me anxious because it seems unnecessarily complicated to me. If someone shows me how to do it, I'll be happy to adapt. I don't see a reason to change what has been working for me for years.

How do you view conflicts between generations?

They are natural, but there is always a way to find common ground. I believe that young people have the right to do things differently, even if it may not work out for them. Sometimes I feel that today’s generation has less patience. It depends on the situation – if it concerns values, I am firm in my opinions. Conflicts are unnecessary if both sides listen to each other.

What does it mean to you to be a mentor?

To be a guide who helps but does not impose rules. Giving helpful advice and sharing experiences so that others can learn. To teach the younger ones to avoid the mistakes I made. To be someone who supports but does not impose their opinions. I don't know if I have anything to offer; everyone has to find their own path.

If you had to choose a way to preserve your experiences for future generations, what would you prefer?

Write a book or a diary with your memories. To tell stories and sell them orally. Create something practical that can help others (e.g., a course, blog, video). To teach your children and grandchildren what I have learned. Let things flow – whoever wants to learn will ask.
