A Short Weekly Reset

Make your review work for your week

A weekly reset doesn’t have to mean cleaning your entire home, clearing all your emails, and planning every hour. Set aside a little time to ask three questions: What went well? What kept getting stuck? Which two or three things deserve attention next week?

Then prepare one specific step to make it easier to get started: check your calendar, get things ready for a walk, or note a date you need to confirm. If your list is too long, mark one task as optional or move it to another time.

Reflection should also take into account circumstances beyond your control. If you missed a habit because you were ill or had an unexpected responsibility, don’t label the whole week a failure. Consider whether you could prepare a smaller version or a Plan B.

Getting organized can make decisions easier for some people, but it doesn’t automatically guarantee greater productivity or less stress. If your reset adds more work, shorten it, change the day, or pause it for a while.
