Say no clearly
Turn down a request and decide whether to give a reason or suggest an alternative.
Practise saying no, asking for a change, and speaking up when you have a different opinion—even when others expect an immediate yes.
StartA client wants you to confirm a delivery date, but you’re still waiting for some of the information you need. In a meeting, you have concerns about a proposal everyone else has already backed. And at home, someone asks you something you’d rather keep private. Each situation calls for a slightly different opening line.
In this training, you’ll practise speaking clearly about what you need, what you can promise, and where your boundaries lie. You’ll have the chance to practise your response in your own words and think through what to say if the other person keeps pushing.
You’ll practise each approach in a specific conversation.
Turn down a request and decide whether to give a reason or suggest an alternative.
Say what’s happening, how it affects you, and what action you’re asking for.
Share your view, explain why, and say what you still need to check.
Buy time to decide, repeat your clear answer, or end a conversation that has turned insulting.
Each of the 12 lessons presents a scenario and a multiple-choice question.
Decide whether you want to get information, ask for a change, say no, or express disagreement.
Consider what you can truthfully say in the moment and what you can influence.
After the feedback, say a short response out loud that feels natural to you.
Prepare an opening line and a brief response in case the other person asks again. After the conversation, notice whether your answer made it clear what you wanted to say.
