Notice without labelling
Describe observable behaviour and separate it from your interpretation.
Notice facial expressions, gaze, voice, gestures and personal space in context. Separate observation from assumption, and check what things mean by asking.
StartFacial expressions, gaze, gestures, posture, voice, pace, pauses and personal space all play a part in conversation. Their meaning depends on the situation, the relationship, individual comfort and cultural norms.
In this training, we won’t try to guess what someone else is thinking. You’ll learn to separate observation from interpretation, use your own signals clearly and check what things mean with words. Nonverbal behaviour alone does not prove that someone is lying, disagreeing or agreeing.
Practical scenarios will help you turn assumptions into useful questions or concrete next steps.
